My family is researching the
Miller Family of Bland County, Virginia. We are having trouble finding
information on Charles T. Miller. Charles T. Miller was born around 1795 and
lived near Crandon, Bland County. We do not know the location of his birth. He
married Anna McNeil on August 13, 1819 in Giles County, Va. Charles and Anna had
six children. Abraham Woodson (whose 1st wife was Rachel Hearn), Lorenzo John,
Jacob, Charles K., Lucinda Ann, and Alexander Fleming. Charles T. Miller died on
12-31- 1867. We would like to know who Charles T. Miller's mother and father
were and where they resided. We believe they may have lived near Dunkard's
Bottom on the New River in Montgomery County which is now Pulaski
County.

I am searching for
information on the following HEARN family members I am descended from William
HEARN and Susannah HICKS through their son Harvey. However, William and Susannah
had several other children for which I have nothing... Ann HEARN who married
Isaac BLAND or BLANE on 11 Apr 1838 in Wythe County, one known child, Sarah Jane
BLAND. Also, Lydia HEARN who married William R. Miller on 15 Feb 1839 in Wythe
County, no known children. Lydia later married Alexander SUITER. Rachel HEARN
born 27 Sep 1820, married Abraham MILLER, 2 known children, Cynthia and Susannah
MILLER. No known death date, nothing else on this family. Finally, Elizabeth J.
HEARN who married 1. George W. Waggoner and 2. William S. HEARN, apparently not
a close relative. She then disappears out of sight. If you recognize any of
these families, please contact me. Am willing to share

I have been doing research on the Foglesong
Family. They arrived in Bath County about 1793. George Washington Foglesong
(1772? - ) and his Mary Swartz (1776 - ?) were married in Shenandoah County, VA
in February 1793, by 1793 there first child John Foglesong was born, he in
December 1818 married Mary Fox. There second child was Catherine Foglesong, born
Sept 2, 1796, and married John Mayes in January of 1818. There third son, my
third great-grandfather was born in Nov 1798, and married Jane
Waddle(Woodell,Waddel). There fourth child was Elizabeth Foglesong born 1800,
and married Jacob Minich in April 1819. Fifth child was Sally Foglesong born
1803 - no other informaton. Sixth child was Sarah Foglesong born in Feb 1805 and
married Jacob Riffle in 1830. I have complete information on George Foglesong,
the thrid child and Sarah Foglesong the sixth child, but lack more detailed
information on all the other children, and what may have occurred to their
parents. I have been through the Bath County Courthouse for marriage licenses,
as well as to the Bath County Gen Society building (brief visit). Information on
how to perhaps find burial information and further details would be appreciated.
Information anyone else may have would be appreciated as well.

Found evidence of Uriah and son Wm Jefferson Bean serving with 51st Virginai Infantry of the CSA, Company K, BLAND COUNTY TIGERS BATTALLION during Civil War. Evidence found at National Archives in Wash DC indicates Uriah enlisted in Wytheville but shows no enlistment for Wm Jefferson. Family tradition is Uriah became incapacitated due to illness and Wm Jefferson served the rest of Uriah's time in CSA. I am searching for any records of members of the NUTTER family who would have made their way to Frederick County in the 1770-1800 time period. They would have been migrating from Sussex County, DE on the Delmarva peninsula via the road from Alexandria, to Augusta County, then north toward the Braddock Road to Uniontown, PA, thence to Clarksburg, WVA, where they helped establish Nutters Fort. Given names would be Thomas (several; my four times greatgrandfather was born in 1760; the Thomas Nutter who was the leader in establishing Nutters Fort was 20 years older and a cousin. Other names: Matthew, Christopher, William, John, Robert, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth. I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks. Dave Nutter, Rochester, NY

Looking for ancestors of my grandparents. Mattie (Martha?) Richardson, b.c. 1880-85, possibly southeastern WVA or southwestern VA. Her father's name was Oscar Richardson She married Andrew Stowers 1896-1905. Andrew B. Stowers (b. 4-1879) was descended from a William Stowers born in 1736 in VA. It is believed he is the grandson of a John Stowers born in Massachusetts between 1680 and 1692 and who emigrated to Westmoreland Co., VA, where he died. He was married to a "Frances" and his father name may have been Joseph Stowers. Elizabeth Nichols, b.1853, was the wife of George Washington Stowers (father of Andrew B. above). GWS was born 5/10/1842 and died 2/2/1932 in Cabell, WVA. He served in the Union Army in the Civil War. I would like to know more about Elizabeth Nichols. Her mother's maiden name was Russell and her father may have been a doctor. Blanche Hite, my paternal grandmother, born in VA c. 1880s. She married a Benjamin Fennell, who was a shoemaker, and also farmed tobacco in Dinwiddie County, VA. Family lived in the Petersburg- South Hill area south of Richmond until World War II. Of the 10 children (8 boys and 2 girls) 7 moved to Baltimore, MD in the 1940s. My grandfather, Otto Clinton Mustard, was, as best as we can tell, born in Bland County on 2-9-1882. He was very secretive about his youth, so we know very little about his past and family. He did mention a place called Crab Orchard; however, I cannot find it on the map. My aunt thinks that his father's name was Charles and his mother was Manierva. It is said that they never married, although they had six children. What is more, they supposedly had the same last name, Mustard. I would like to find out more information. Do have any suggestions about getting started?
