KING COLLECTS COUNTY TAGS
Phillip King has spent several years collecting old Bland County car tags. These tags were used prior to the present day window stickers. He now has the complete set, spanning 1955-1968. He also has secured and restored a collection of Virginia State license plates from 1950-1972, with the exception of 1951 and 1952 for which he is still searching. Added to this collection is a unique U.S. Forestry, “Keep Virginia Green” tag that was most likely used on the Forest Warden’s vehicle. King’s collection is on display for the next several months at the Bland County Historical Society building. For more information contact the Historical Society at 276-688-0088.
